The Ife Development Board is a community-led institution working alongside the Palace, government, and the global Ife diaspora to advance the wellbeing of Ile-Ife.
We exist to coordinate development across Ile-Ife's wards — from infrastructure and education to cultural preservation — while making sure every initiative honors the town's identity as the spiritual cradle of the Yoruba people. We believe growth and heritage are not in tension; done right, one strengthens the other.
Every project the Board takes on passes through consultation with traditional custodians, local government, and the residents it will affect directly.
A coalition of Ife indigenes at home and abroad formalized the Board to give the town's development efforts a single, accountable voice.
The Board's first initiatives focused on documenting and preserving cultural sites threatened by neglect and urban expansion.
A formal working relationship was established with the Palace, aligning community projects with royal patronage and guidance.
The Board now runs active programs across culture, economy, and infrastructure, with a growing network of diaspora contributors.
A working board of trustees and program leads, accountable to the community it serves.
Every major initiative is undertaken in consultation with His Imperial Majesty's court, ensuring development reflects the town's traditions as much as its ambitions.
